A rare double headed snake necklace dating to the 1920s in yellow metal (likely brass) with green paste eyes. This polishes up to a lovely gold tone and is in excellent condition, structurally sound with only very slight colour variations in the metal.

Snake jewellery was popular during the 1920s Egyptian revival in fashion. In Egyptian mythology, the snake symbol represented royalty and divinity. The snake was also seen as a symbol of protection.
